Privacy
The easiest data to protect is data we never collect. This page lists, in plain language, everything YooEV stores and why.

The short version
YooEV has no accounts, no sign-in, and no user profiles. Your savings dashboard, watchlist, and saved stations live in your browser and never reach our servers. The only data we store centrally is what makes the shared map useful: anonymous charger check-ins and the station dataset itself.
On your device
The site keeps four pieces of local storage: your savings calculator entries, your station watchlist, your saved locations, and a random device identifier. None of them contain your name or contact details, and none of them are synced anywhere. Clearing your browser data removes them completely — we could not restore them if we wanted to, because we never had them.
Check-ins
A check-in always contains three things: the station, a status (working, partial, or broken), and your device's random identifier, which we use to weigh repeat reports and limit spam. It is not linked to your identity.
The community fields — vehicle type and model, a note, your name, phone, or email — are entirely optional and stored only if you type them. If you shared contact details with a check-in and want them removed, email us and we will delete them.
To keep spam manageable we also store a salted hash of the reporting IP address for rate limiting. The hash cannot be reversed back to your address.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage — which pages help, which don't. It sets cookies and is governed by Google's own privacy policy. We look at totals and trends, not individuals.
Maps & data partners
Map pages load Google Maps, and station searches use Google Places; those requests go to Google directly from your browser with standard technical headers. Station locations come from Open Charge Map's open dataset. Neither receives anything about you from us beyond the request itself.
Your choices
Everything on YooEV works without checking in. If you do check in, every personal field is optional. You can clear your device data at any time from your browser settings, and you can email us to remove any check-in that includes your contact details.
